Chris Gibb's F1 style 3 wheeler concept

Chris...

Someone on the locost theory has posted a link to your interesting looking trike.

Also, on Ebay is someone up your way selling a cx 500 engine as shown in your drg). Alllegedly, these were / can be turbocharged.

Current bid is 50 quid. Seems tempting, but i dont know what id do with it!

I am a design genius!

The Cx was for illustrative purposes, I intend to use something BIG, possibly a gold wing(with the electric reverse) or a Yam GSX 1100 or 1300.

thanks for the tip!

Cheers

Dont know why, but the cx500 engine, and the bike, has interested me.

I know the 500 was unloved and even called the maggot, and 20 years old, but i like it.

Cheap, and you could fall off it without smashing up 1000's quids of farings.

Bet ya cant get a leadwing engine for 50 quid!

As I said in the past Chris. Your 3 wheeler looks really good. If you could squeeze a passenger in the back ala mclaren 2 seater F1 thingy, youd be on a winner i recon.

However, I think that Ronart car is the best kit car I have seen - and its got a V12!

The Ronart is fantastic, I love the shape, sort of thirties grand prix car, if I had the money..........!!!

As for the two seater, NO!!!, let em' build their own. Huh passengers, bloody freeloaders!!

Cheers

CX500 engines were not turbo'd, they are great engines, i used a CX500 when i was a courier, had 65,000 miles on it, looked like a real heap of shit but was reliable and still quick, its a good lump but the box is a little crunchy, as are most Honda gearboxes.

fuckit

Hi Dazza.

My web searches showed up that the 500 is used a lot by couriers - and there is mention of a turbo version going from 50 to 70+ hp, and of a larger (650cc?) version. These were probably for USA market - definatly refered to a turbo on the net - possibly called a silver wing?
