Trailer & Tow Vehicle
We have recently purchased a trailer to transport our Indy to trackdays and such like. Although it’s extremely useful to have, realistically its not
gonna get much more use than this throughout the year, so if anyone needs their car transporting within say a 50 mile radius of MK, we’d be pleased to
help. The only problem is, it will only be available during the evenings and weekends, however our rates will be reasonable to reflect this
Just something you may wish to consider next time you need your vehicle transporting or require MK (Engineering or Sportscars) to do some work on it.
Oh yeah, and it won’t take anything over 1,000kg.

How heavy is it?
I'll be up for a bit of that if my car can tow it!

Ooops, missed the "and vehicle" bit.
Depending on the availability and fit of your blade headers (if you have them back yet), I might need a lift with my rolling chassis to Martin and
back.
Cheers,

6'1" wide bed x 12' long.
If you're talking about the Locost meeting at the Angel, we won't be there, so I'd suggest dropping us a U2U.

Dont forget:
Over 750kgs total trailer weight, you need over run brakes
Over 750Kgs total trailer weight, you need a towing test (Only for the young 'uns who recently passed their driving test)
VERY Important:
The total trailer and load weight must NOT exceed the "Maximum Braked Trailer Towing Limit" which is shown in the tow cars handbook.
Mostly its roughly about the same as the tow car's weight, unless you have a 4X4 ie Land Rover etc.
A 600Kg Car on a trailer is getting up towards 1000kgs (ish).
Also TheCaravan Club, AA, RAC etc Recommend that the trailer should not exceed 85% of the Towing vehicles weight.
Believe me when I say that towing at 100% weight can get scary on motorways with the bow wave (draught) from Lorries and especially coaches.
All I am saying here is make sure you are not over weight, and are staying inside the law and the safety limits.
Make sure your Car insurance covers the trailer and Load, at least for 3rd party damage.
You Know it makes sense
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Best Regards

The towing vehicle is a Ford Mondeo with a kerb weight of 1,484kg, so a safe limit to tow (according to AA, RAC etc) would be 1,261kg. So, if the
trailer weighs 300kg, the load should not weigh more than 961kg.
Car insurance does not cover the trailer or the load. The load will ideally, have its own insurance policy. I did check this with the insurance
company and is how I understand it to work.
The trailer is braked, and I assume these are also referred to as over-run brakes?
Towing test doesn't apply to me.
