Samco non-fuel hose ok for filler neck?

Bought a nice, sexy, (and expensive! ), Samco silicon hose to use for my filler neck.

What I didn't realise is you have to specify fuel capable stuff when you order. I didn't realise it wasn't fuel capable and the bloke at Raldes didn't mention it either when I told him what it was for.

As it's filler neck not actual fuel lines it won't be immersed in fuel. How well will it survive? Any idea if it will last short-medium term? And what's the SVA issues?

Thanks!

James

On mine he didn't check this at all, I am using the convoluted stuff from MAC1 and it passed fine, I don't think it is marked at all.

Having said that ZXR is right, just your luck he happens to look and fails it on it!

Rich.

Unfortunately it wont matter as silicone (Samco type) isnt compatible with fuel. It needs to be nitrile type rubber.

Yep and its a fortune. Sorry should have been clearer. The regular silicone hose from Samco, Racetech etc isnt fuel proof.

Heres a spec sheet which may be of use.

If you have a lockable boot then i asume he won't look in it to see whats there. I don't remember the chap looking last time.

You've got the same tank as me... what have you done for filler/hose?

Cheers,

Hi

I bought mine from the local Ford garage.

He had pics of different shape ones. Cortina suited my tank.

It was £13 though
