SORN

Sorry guys this is long, but bear with me.

AS most of you are aware when you take a vehicle off the road you have to declare SORN ( fill in off road form ) I did this last November. In January DVLA told me that as I hadn't sent form in I would be fined £25, rising if I refused to pay. I pointed out to them that I had declared SORN on my tax refund form, end of story. Went to get "Thursday" taxed today, using a re-reg form that I picked up in November. Was told that It was wrong form. ( this is where it gets interesting )

Talking to lady behind counter, she told me that they had changed the form because of problems. Turns out that no end of people have been fined for supposedly not declaring SORN ( inc' nice lady behind counter ). She told me that it's got to such a state that they are now issueing reciepts when SORN forms are taken to main post office. So people have got some form of proof, should they ever be contacted by DVLA. Also told me that they hold a list at post office of vehicles off road.

Moral: Make sure you get your reciept and don't lose it !

I was lucky, I didn't have to pay the fine. Nice lady behind counter couldn't prove her case, and had to pay

Hi Roland
Will Thursday be appearing at stoneleigh or will I be the sole representative of the Yorks group actually driving there in my hand built sports car and beering it up with the lad from the smoke? Tony has an excuse as his is a show car, as for the rest???
If anyones interested I'll be in the 2nd tent from the left. Just look for the large yorkshireman in the alcoholic stupor next to 2 or 3 cockney wide boys!

Hello Roland
Mr Gibbs is on a residential course to do with his new job so won't be attending. If you are coming down and want to stop overnight just fetch a sleeping bag. I'm travelling down on sat afternoon and travellling back on mon pm. Will be meeting up with dazza and bob for an almighty bbq and piss up!
