Bullet cams / videos
Hi all,
I'm helping the other half's dad to build his Spire GT-R at the moment, and one of my jobs is to figure out the onboard camera(s). The
ideal thing I'm looking for is to have one bullet cam mounted on the roll bar looking forward, and one mounted on the forward bracing (maybe),
focussed on the instruments. Ideally I'd like both cameras to record to the same device so they're synced. (then, I can overlay the
instruments into one corner of the screen).
I was thinking about one of the MP4 hard drive recorder type devices, I've yet to see one with two AV inputs though. I had a ride in one of the
new spires at Brands, which had a Stack kit in it - I've just looked these up and the recorder part of the system was $6500 US 
With the assumption that I don't get 6 numbers in tonight's draw, has anyone got any experience / suggestions for what I can use for
this?

Have a look on http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/ they do everything you need for onboard camera set ups, including recorders and multicamera set ups.
Get in touch with them if you need to, they are very helful and know what they are talkng about.

You can get wireless colour cameras with audio (~1.2GHz) with receiver for £15odd off ebay.
I got mine and think its great! beware that alot fo the wireless cameras off ebay dont have audio..
this is similar to what i bought..

After an accident in 2005, when a car went through red and won in court (because of no witnesses), I lost.
I bought the following DVR and a bulit cam for my tintop.
The recordings are Mpeg4 and are recorded in 10 sencond clips. They are continously recorded on to an 2 GB SD card and overwritten when full.
The videos contain date and time information and they can be joined together video editing software. You can set the video to record continuously but
you run the risk of corruption of the saved file, if the power disconnects during recording to the sd card. 10 second files are safer to record.
I have a wired bullet cam because wireless can suffer from interference and a lot of the imported cams work on some of the UK's blue tooth and
wireless network frequencies.
At the moment, my camera is in the tintop as a safeguard against other drivers.
When I get time I will try it on my project car.

Well that's your excuse anyway nitram  I suppose it's cheaper than a private eye to keep track of the missus 
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

ther was a lady exhibiting a load of bullet cams etc at newark this year, she was outside with a black clio, prices where very reasonable i thought
and looked good quality gear too, think i have a card somewhere will have a look on monday and post here

To use more than one camera you need a quad processor, you can get them off ebay for about £40 for a 4 channel one. Not sure how they work exactly,
but guessing you connect up 4 cameras and have one output going to the camera. Then when you want to take the video off the camera you play it
backwards through the quad processor to seperate the feeds. Not sure how this would work with digi cams that load video via firewire.

Oi... 1.2Ghz is in the Middle of a Military band shared by us Radio Amateurs, and Aircraft.
You will be transmitting illegally, and risking a £2000 fine and / or a custodial sentence.
I strongly recommend you dont use 1.2ghz TV transmitters. Radio hams will track you down for the fun of it, then when they find out who you are, they
shop you to OffComm, who will prosecute you. A farmer got done over near Wisbech. If you want wireless cameras, get the ones that work on 2.4 Ghz, no
licence requared, and completely legal.

i got a Mp4 recorder (neuros) for £80 and a www.fastfilms.co.uk bullet cam top of the range foe £250 some brakcets and wiring its came to £400- but
could be cheaper if you hunt around
