Fitting GRP seats.

I have a pair of Stuart Taylor race seats, at present being covered in leather to fit to my car.I have trial fitted them and the drivers seat is about 150mm forward of the rear bulkhead when in the correct driving position. Is it ok just to bolt to the floor and leave the back unsupported ? or is it a good idea to suport the back of the seat against the rearbulkhead? i noticed that the seats are not as sturdy as i imagined they would be and am worried that they may flex excessively. I suppose i really should visit a race event and see how people are fitting them as they mostly use these seats.
Paul.
