Registration numbers

Morning all.

Are there any benefits to having a Q plate. Is there any stigma attached? It would appear that some people do not want a Q plate and age related or new plates are preferable. Also, does a Q plate affect values when selling.
Any thoughts?
Tim

I'd personally prefer a Q plate, mainly because of the lack of emission test at MOT.

Not sure if it affects re-sale price at all? It shouldn't, but you never know.

The problem with a Q plate is that you cant change it if you wanted a private plate for example. Also iv heard that it does affect resale value.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

if the car is good looking and it has a Q plate it wont affect resale

I sold my baby for 8 grand think thats good enough and I could have sold many more with the amount of people preparing to pay that price

the main one would appear to be that the emissions test consists of just a visual inspection for smoke, no proper readings. There may be more but thats the one usually quoted. Should save on a cat hire every year.
