U.K. mags for those building in U.S.?
I get frustrated with the U.S. mags.
They feature nothing but million dollar/800hp Cobras.
If it has less than 400lbs of chrome it does'nt make the issue.
I'm starved for a down to earth "builders"
mag not a "kit sellers"ad pamphlet.
Is there anything rich in seven I might try to find here?
Thanks in advance,Fletch

Aw, you don't want to start reading UK kit car mags...
They'll drive you mad, with all the great kits that can't be bought in the US For some reason, most kit makers don't export to
North America. I've researched a little and can't find any good reason for this.
There are a few nice kits in the US, but they cost like hell

Pete,
I think you'll find that your letigious society would be to be blame.
McDonalds/Coffee comes to mind!
I could be wrong but reckon any non US outfit exporting to the US would find their liability insurance goies through the roof!
Fletch,
There must be quite a few of you who want lower end products in the mags, why don't you flood the editors with mail, suggesting a change in
policy!

True enough, there's a victim mentality here that aggravates me to no end. It's too easy to litigate; attorneys pump out class action
suits in their idle time, for free.
I'm of the opinion that the loser in a civil suit should pay court costs; that would dry up frivolous suits in a hurry.

you really need max power. (sarchasm btw - I know I cant spell it.)
Not only do you get to know how to fit a single screen wiper to your astra (whats with that???? lots of work for nowt), 18 year old girlies are
interviewed at illegal car races / gatherings (called cruises) and tell if they spit or swallow.
Thats _really_ car related. And what really 'sucks' (take or leave the pun) is that I recon that proportion of women dont do as they
say...
pervy mode switched off.
Only bought it two times honest.....

I managed to buy a copy of Max power over here......total and utter f****** garbage....
Call me old fashioned, but I don't want girlies in my car mags...grrrrrrrr
Nor, do I want cars in my porn either (hypothetically of course, because I don't read that sort of stuff)......

I was given, i.e DID NOT BUY a copy of "Revs" think of it as Max Power lite.
Anyway aparently the latest craze among the knuckle-draging babboons that like this sort of thing is the "German look" which involves, and
this is perfectly true, the fitting of tyres that a too large for the rim width that they are fitted. This causes the tyres to balloon at the sides.
This aparrently, looks "Cool"
Not suicidal or stupid but "cool"
Fooking Morons.

BTW Fletch I'd reccomend Which Kit too, you can see highlights of their current MK Indy build Here WK indy

nope chris.
those tyres are safe.
speed cameras cant detect them, so they must be safe.
problem is mr moron might lose his tyre as hes coming towards you..........
I still like the cretins that spend a fortune on car hifi and MUST MUST MUST have gold fuses to get 'the sound'
I have special wire for 10 quid a metre. Its very rare. only I sell it. It raises the hig frequency of your stereo 0.001%.
get it now whilst its hot.

Lawyers, guns and money
Thanks for the info guys!
I suspect it's true about the liabilty thing,Westfield just recently stoped exporting to the U.S. .No more Megabusas.
I think that maybe since locost builders commit thier act at home under cover of darkness the whole scene might be happening under the radar of the
mag puplishers here.
Per capita the U.K. has it goin on, on the locost front obviously. Why else would you guys have to tolerate the great unwashed masses of U.S. builders
on your forum.(I really apreciate that by the way!)
There are a few of us capitalist left here, maybe some enterprising young lad will fill the need.
I've heard of a u.k. mag called Low Flying.
Any good?
sorry for the long winded post,Thanks again Fletch

WRT getting kits shipped to the US.
I read somewhere that companies will/can do it, if you use a courier.
ie. Kit Mfg ships to UPS, UPS Ship to you and you pay the bills and give up any warranty rights.
This means the manufacturer is not liable for any shipping damage either (Which is a big concern for grp etc)

Do any u.s. kits make the other direction?
I thought the liability was on turnkey cars.
Roaring forties will only send one to the u.s. sans drive train for this reason.
I swear, there are less regs on home built aircraft!
