Cold this be rebodied to make it a 7?
on the bay; bet it will be cheap, but can this be rebodied to look like a 7? (may need some chassis strengthening)
nasty wires!

Well yes....... a few sheets of marine ply and you could make a Locust out of it....... bit like this ........

Whether it would be worth the effort is a different matter entirely!!

I'm sure it could, but not a very good one.
If it had a V5c them might be worth it, otherwise I wouldn't bother.

^^^ that's pretty smart - was that a conversiopn then?
worth it? who knows - if it sells cheap, then probably less effort than making chassis from scratch etc.
(& not, I am not planning this, just wondering as there have been quite a few duttons on the bay whcih I guess could be "fixed" in a
similar fashion). The 7 may not be the lovliest car around but a damn sight better than those 2!!

Why rebody it to look like a 7? Why not build a 7 chassis and fit the panels from the car pictured. Far more interesting

No thats a proper Locust (which I've just finally managed to sell after years of it being sat in my fathers garage) but they're built on a
ladder chassis which is probably very similar to the Bulldog one. TBH people laugh at them but if you want a cheap traditional looking car to pootle
round in as opposed to a car to use for trackdays and the like then they're not nearly as bad as people would have you believe.

I once suggested to a Spartan owner that his car was a good donor for a Cortina.

I think you could just about do it when the first book was published if you followed Ron's advice and got the metal from skips and depanelled
luton vans for their aluminium etc.
Those days are long gone, especially with the price of scrap these days.
I've seen a reference on here to a rumoured scrap man who made one for himself with bits from his heap for £37.50 or something mad.

I reckon you could still build a Triumph Spitfire/Herald based LocUst for £250 given enough time on Ebay and on here
The finished car would be a shed (cue the wood jokes....) obviously........ but it's possibly a suitable challenge for the seriously tight
fisted
