Hi Mate,
Do you know which locost chassis you got? Live rear axel or IRS rear end? Depending on which one, depends on which book you should buy (though they
both make good reading)
Tons of advice on here, most is excellent.
sierra is the most widely used donor these days, but again it depends on which chassis you have.

Hello and welcome.
If it's the chassis that sold just after 9 this evening then it's pretty much to the book
so you'll be after a live axle, Cortina/Escort/Capri, basically as per the book.
If you have the abilty to weld then DeDion or IRS is an option.
Engine..hmm..... decisions, decisions. Do a search as this comes up regularly, usually ending
in a fight between the bike engine fans (me included) and the conventional brigade (do
I get my coat now ?).
On the subject of searches, do one first before posting as the answer is often out
there already.

Welcome............
If your in no stupid rush I may have just the axle for you, still in car at mo but coming out during engine transplant as I bought a complete axle
with correct diff ratio for the new motor.
Axle was fastened to a blade engine so that may help you choose wisely......

You just had to go ask that question didn't you?
I may be wrong, but I believe BEC's are more expensive, but from the pics and having seen only one all built up, they LOOK easier to build. The
noise of the engine may get tiresome too if you want it for country jaunts.

not wishing to put a damper on your purchase....
but i would strongly recommend checking and double checking all measurements on the chassis.....
i bought a "bargain" chassis of ebay, manufactured by "an engineering company"...
and have spent the last 2 weekends cutting the front and rear off the car and starting again..
the angles were all wrong and nearly 1/2 inch out,but couldnt tell from ebay piccies
hopefully you have a good un as would hate for you to go through what i am
woould have been easier to build from scratch in the first place
