Jochen Rindt, Won the championship even though he was dead at the end of the season.

You could also add that people liked to see Ferraris on the track and tobacco sponsorship wasnt seen as bad.

At the race meeting that Seena died Roland Ratsunberger ( not sure of spelling) also died but most people seem to forget that.
