In my search for a build left-hand-drive Locost for max. £4000, I mailed MK Engineering a few days ago.
Does any-one know if they are quick repliers ? Or should I call them instaed ?
Greetings,
Jochen aka Quantum

Quantum, have you considered buying a second-hand 7-style car on the UK market and converting it to left hand drive. Should be possible within your
price range, most of the standard donor cars have LHD equivalents from where you could get steering rack etc

Yep, I thought about it, but I'm a computer-man, I really don't know anything about mechanics and should find somebody who's whiling to do it for
me.

Hi Quantum (!)
Where do you live to want a LHD Locost?
I live in Portugal and I am in the process of "starting to conceive a design that I shall draw and hopefully build...some day."
Of course it will be LHD and even if I have to SVA it in UK (not possible so far in Portugal) I'll buy a Sierrs donor here.
I'm also trying to buil-up an web site to share my concept w/ all of you.
I may disclose that the chassis will be rather different from the "book": mostly round tubes, (almost) fully triangulated; I will look for someone
in UK (Laserman?!) or in Portugal to build it.
It shall have inboard IRS all around and full GRP body (no sh...t metal).
Well, dreaming...

Would it be the end of the world to use a right hand drive car in Belgium?
I lived in Holland for 18mths and my parents quite happily used their RHD cars there for that time.

im failing to see the main problem?
cant you just follow the book chassis designs and use LHD components and just build it on the opposite side?
coz if you live where LHD cars are most common then surley your donor car will be LHD anyway?
and with the shape of the locost narrow as it is you could use the RHD version just as well id assume
