What parts of your build do/did you enjoy the most?

Ok, we all have plenty to bitch about in terms of the things we don't like doing, but what about the things that were fun or especially satisfying?

For me, I love the final, post chassis paint, assembly...running brake pipes, etc....when all is clean.

Also, the chassis welding/fab. is quite enjoyable too....

TBH i enjoyed it all, but i think the best bits where compliments from others once it was on the road,

Hardest bit, trying to explain the chassis was built at home, "yea but witch kit is it" the bodywork was made at home "but where did you buy it from" ect.........ect......

I like the building part, chassis, wishbones and fabricating. Seeing something appearing from nothing almost.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

First time I started the engine was a high. I knew it ran but after you strip it to bare bones and then add your own fuel and ignition parts it's nice to know it still goes! Other simple things like the first time you power up the loom and the lights work and no smoke. Passing the SVA is a welcome relief too.

I really enjoyed doing the suspension, I found it very satisfying and it looks so purposeful. It all bolted together very well I thought. I also got a major kick out of hearing the engine going for the first time. Well, who doesn't?

As Zetec, starting it up for the first time, gives you a real buzz.

I'm sure I've got one, just don't know where I've put it

Electrics - are you mad!!!! My worst bit.

I loved welding the chassis together and see a car come to life in front of me. Well worth the extra effort of building your own.

I'm with Pete, Steve and Jasper - making the chassis was the most satisfying part of the build.

But for me driving it is by far the best bit. I just love it.

It's not actually part of the 'build' per se, but the first test flight round Nutts Corner was a magical moment. Realising the car was far better than I could have hoped for and I had actually built it.......

I have to agree with Mr Jenkins!!! Although i was dreading doing the electrics i actually really enjoyed it, loads of planning and diagrams, plus its a nice clean job! If the loom had melted and nothing worked after i had finished i don't think i would have enjoyed it so much though!! Its the job that has given me the bigggest buzz when it was finished and worked so far!!

...and it's a really big kick when you turn the switch, and everything comes to life! (apart from the two fuses I blew, due to user-ability errors).

If I had to pick one particular thing, it would be the dashboard. Its easy having designs in your head, but getting them from there and incorporated into the build is often quite difficult and sometimes not achievable at all. So to get it right from conception to installation is quite satisfying.

Mind you.... all the finishing bits are the best bits IMHO

I enjoyed the whole build. but the best part was the interior, seeing it all come together and sitting in it when i wasnt working on the car just thinking what it would be like on the road.

I have enjoyed every part, except what I am on at the moment.

I have stripped the car to basic chassis and I am preparing it for paint, I have built the car outside so there is a significant amout of surface corrosion, I have 'tooled' all the bits where it will reach, but now its manual scrubbing!
