Pressed steel monocoque
i had an idea the other day, what with all this talk of different chassis designs. It may weigh a bit more than other chassis, but it will save a lot
of effort (and i do mean a crapload of effort saved...), plus it will have the benefit of including weather gear as standard, plus options of doors, a
sizable boot, a radio/stereo, nice interior trim, 4 or even 5 seats, plus parts will be easy to get hold of. For instance, you wont need to make a
dash board cos scrappys are full of suitable dashboards. Likewise, contoured fuel tanks can be had for pennies. You might even end up with electric
windows and a sunroof.
the only drawback is, its too easy, it will weigh a lot more, plus it might not handle very well.
My idea? use the chassis' supplied by Henry Ford.
can anyone think of any other problems aside from those listed?

i thought about this - fresh body round the sierra chassis - dont need an SVA test then as you havn't modified the chassis as such but
you'd certainly need to do a lot of work, open wheel plan is still an option aswell, but is it really worth it? would be interesting to see if
someone tried it......

If i remember correctly isnt one of the vindicator cars a re-bodied sierra?

I think most of the Banham cars are made by chainsawing off the bodies from the floorpans, and then attaching a GRP replacement. Bit like beach
buggies only different
