That is impressive.
I would say that they would probably sell a lot more phaetons if they built them normally and slashed 40% off the price tag for the saving on factory
cost though...

Ah, but if you want a Phaeton at 40% off the list price, buy a 1 year old one!
Impressive tech though, carts powered by induction from the floor, inteligent tools etc.

But then robots don't require pensions and only (normally) scheduled maintenance. You arn't forced to keep them on the books if they are
older than 55 either (assuming Germany still has this law).
On top of that Skynet doesn't just build an army of robots by its self you know. It needs to start somewhere.

Actually the assembly techniques are not that different from other car manufacturers.
They also use robots for window assembly, robots for automatic install of the dashboard unit, automatic bolting of the drive train to the body. For
safety reasons large car manufacturers also use these "intelligent tools"; for important bolt connections (safety belts, brakes, engine
supports, ABS sensors etc.) they log the final torque for every car in a database.
But in most factories the floor is not that clean and neat as in this VW factory. But why should your floor should be that clean except if you want to
eat from it ?

THAT'S where all the good wood went, and why my sundeck and fence cost so much!! We are infamous in CAnada for sending all the good wood
overseas or the States, and giving us the crap.
