a little help??

hi everyone....

i am moving house this weekend and i have a slight problem....

3 weeks ago i brought some sierra uprights on ebay.....today has arrived and they still havnt turned up...the seller swears he sent them but doesnt have a tracking number....

so my car has rear wheels, but no fronts...

i managed to sort a trailer for the weekend but i dont think that between myself and airhead we will be able to move it.....

is there anyone with any ideas how i can do this? or has a set of uprights i can borrow or can help lift the car???

the trailer i have is not a car trailer, its a big ifor williams six wheeler with ramps so there is no hand winch.....

cheers

how about some dolly wheels on a piece of wood strapped to the chassis?

How about using one of those 4 wheeled caster skates that they use for office moves etc.

Stick it under the front of the chassis and roll it on to the trailer.

I have one but wrong side of the country.

Machine Mart sell them, but I am sure they must be available at other places. Maybe Staples?

Good luck with your move.

the ramps are only the width of the tyres...

i did think about using my snap on creeping board but the ramps will stop that...

Tart.

I lifted and secured my whole chassis to the rafters of my garage on my own!

make a wide skate from a plank and some castors that fits across both ramps? Lash it to the chassis and get pushing - might need a bit of a bump to get onto the ramps to start with, but should (might) work if nothing else presents itself?

Cheers

Vince

Hi Barry, TBH I think that we should be able to drop the rear onto the wheels and hold the front between us - there isn't a motor in it now after all.

You'd know about pains in the rectum

Want to shift it over to mine this week - the Mazda can go back outside for a bit?

If you have an engine hoist, can to lift the front of the car enough to back the trailer under it? (And repeat the trick at the other end?)

2nd for skateboards, I've used them to move engines and gearboxes into position, don't try ticks on them though!
