Mk Indy Blade or Raw Striker?

Well these two are with in a reasonable distance from me and with in my price range.
Raw Striker http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2984566.htm
Mk Indy Blade http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3116819.htm
Both have been on PH a while now (re-listed) and I'm thinking about viewing one or both with the intention to buy
But which one (if any) is best?
Do these belong to anyone on here or does anyone know of them?

If you could get that striker for 5.5k I'd say it was a good car for the price. A nova box removes the engines weak spot too.

Striker 3 Mk Indy 0
The full roll cage does it for me on the Indy but I do like the looks of the Striker end-end
Ok lets see what others say before I book a viewing. Not that I know what I'm looking for but I guess if it runs (no big rattles) and gear change is smooth (ish) and it turns and stops then I guess thats about it.
After all its a kit-car so I can't expect too much.

A bit harsh that - but I think I'd go with the striker too

I guess the only way to find out is to try it!!
Been in touch with the guy and the price is fixed at £6K. Just had an oil/filter and plug change...
Trouble is no one wants to pay the asking price!!! I WISH I had asked to sit in the Striker I saw at Combe last weekend

I believe that the Striker used to be raced by Russell Haggerty in the WRDA Sports and Saloons - he then had a mega-spec Striker built to replace this one.

At least if you are dealing in Mag wheels you can ditch the silly 17s! Incidentally, your website seems to be down.

web site should be up and running!!! Just checked and all seems fine.
So they are 17's, big is not always better. I do deal in new mags, just refurbish/powder coat. I would prefer 13's or 15's so I could use this to haggle on the price a little even though he is saying there is no movement Once a seller knows you have cash its hard not to drop on the price

Would I be expecting to much to hold off for a month or so in the hope that prices will drop by a good 10-15% ??
The Mk Indy has been dropped in price already and the Raw started off at £6.4k.

i would wait it is a buyers market and if he wants to sell then give him the money its his loss not yours as there will be others for sale, just wait.

You are correct. This is his old car!! Good or bad that it's been driven hard in the past!
I'm off to see it either tomorrow or Saturday. Also tried to get it touch with Russell to find out a little more about the car.
If its not for me (as in I don't fit in it) I will continue the hunt. I do like Alan's Mk Indy Blade (Yellow :cool but by the time I find a courier to delivery the price starts to increase a tad plus I really feel the need to atleast side in the car before parting with any dosh

Ive been looking like crazy for the last 10 days and seen every single one for sale, the indy above you posted I really liked and like you the cage/look drew me to it, but my favourite one I found for sale was this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3237476.htm

I spoke to the guy yesterday, sounds like a top bloke, the car was factory built and has a stack dash and some nice bits, he wont budge far from £4500 he says but will a bit. Thats the one I'd be looking at if it were me, going by talking to him and the pics etc

Good luck, let us know what you find

Well I did. I won it on eBay and made a deposit. Then flew to the owner and picked it up.
Never regretted one moment of it. I love the car. I'll be very very sad to see it go !

CONSIDER the advice on here, (some are biased towards different makes ) then go and try both (if they are still for sale). You will then get some idea on fit, feel and suitibility for yourself and then you can then make your on mind up. Simples!!

Cheers, Nick

That I am.. General view is the Raw but to all Mk owners that NOT to say the Inky is no good. As you said Nick try both to get a feel There is a Mk Indy on route so I may drop by and have a look at that too
