Depends whether its pre iva or not. I'm not up on my westfields so don't know how old it can be.

Edit it's a 1998. Same year as SVA was launched so it might be ok if registered before.

I'm not certain but surely even if it didn't go through an SVA it should still be registered correctly and it has now missed the amnesty for getting it registered as a westfield?

How does that change anything? The amnesty for fixing the V5's of miss-registered cars is long gone.

If it was built and registered that close to SVA being introduced, I'd expect the builder knew about it and therefore should have known about the amnesty to get it correctly registered. I'd also therefore, suspect it was built and cloned onto an older cars registration to avoid SVA much like some people are allegedly doing to avoid IVA.

Were Westy SE's ever built using Spitfire running gear?

Doesn't mean it's dodgy, just means it was never changed.

Perhaps the buyer knew but didn't care as he never expected to sell it. Who knows?

Should be a registered westfield(.).
If done under amnesty it would be, if svad it would be, if ivad it would be.

Its technically a ringer and needs ivaing and dvlaing.

Its not dodgy with intent, but doesn't make any less incorrectly registered and needing IVA/DVLA.

When I built my Midge DVLA just added 'Sport' to Triumph Vitesse, their terminology, not mine. Dont know when the amnesty ended but I got my V5C changed to JC Midge in December 2006 and all they needed to do was check the chassis number and engine number.

as per the ad, dvla appear to have it as a 2 litre triumph,

I see no triumph components in it though, (except perhaps the front uprights)
