Identifying which crossflow block from Engine type
Hi
I'm looking at the possibility of creating a spare original spec engine to fit into my Marcos
The Info I have is the original receipt from Ford with the following info:
Engine Serial No D6165/14
Model / Build No 2255E B-OAO/152/110
Date Sold 11/11/68
Engine is a 1600 GT Crossflow but is this a 681F block (which I assume it is) or a 2737 (which I thought was a pre crossflow but am not sure) block? -
Any ideas?
Thanks
Roy

Have a look on Burton power site as well as turbosport and oldskoolford there are lists of engine numbers and build dates in there

Can you not just look at the casting numbers on the exhaust side of the block?
