Insurance

Hi People.

My car is now very much looking like a car in the garage and could really do with insuring.

I've done a search and cannot find any recommended companies.

I know I've seen a list on here somewhere but cannot for the life of me find it. Please could you recommend a good cheap insurer.

Thanks in advance

Hi Vince i think you get a few responses to this mine was www.roadsure.ltd.uk for 1300xf £120 fully comp(insured on chassis no and then reg no.)
but try Kit Car Mag it has lots of insurance ads (and just lots of ads) i just phoned most of them and took the best quote
good hunting Barrie

the cars looking good" a blind man would be pleased to see it"

Vince

I used herts insurance consultants (HIC)
They advertise on the back cover or in the two kit car mags we have to endure.

08451 290290

They were very helpfull and insured me pre SVA,also used them for recovery service as well.

Adrian Flux - 3 weeks payout. Sounds good to me - but much rather have avoided it!

Blackford Bloor £ 196.00
Adrian Flux 154.80
Roadsure £ 126.00

Took the Roadsure one, one because it was the cheapest but also because Mat knew what he was talking about. Phoned one other company HIC recommended above but it was a girl who didn't have a clue. She kept asking me the engine type.... pinto.... pinto.... pinto.... 2 litre.... 2 litre.... oh sorry sir £ 456.00 is the best we can do.... Stuff off. Thanks all the same bob.

Mat at Roadsure 0870 499 0333 was brilliant.

One of the companies used to offer free insurance while the car was being built. I think their idea was that when you got it on the road you would use them for you on road policy.

I think it was Adrian Flux (might be wrong). Worth getting till you are ready to start driving.

You're right Zetec - it was Flux but i don't think they do it anymore.

don't forget to ask for your club discount if you're a member - most of the above companies offer 10%.

Cheers

Chris

Nar... Just a sticky at the top of this section. Anyone else getting good / bad quotes could add to this thread.

Also the other important bit too.... what they are like when dealing with a claim, god forbid.

Damn you guys are lucky. In My area of Canada only one company will touch kit cars--and they have to be registered 15 years first- and will not insure you if anyone in the household has less than 10 years experience. If you dont meat these requirements then it goes to what is call facility insureance which is left to keep it legal that anyone can get insurance- at those prices your looking at $3000.00 for the facilities--
