I'm wanting to buy a Locost build manual. Just wondering what book has the best content. Ron Chapman or Chris Gibbs book

Depends on what your building!
Building a Locost, you want the champion book, if a Roadster you want the Gibbs book!

It might also depend on what donor /parts you are hoping to use?

profile says he's building an MK... so the Chris Gibbs book would be the most useful for you

Ron's car is a bit smaller (only a little bit).
Chris's car is a bit bigger plus has plans / mods for using MX5 parts which will make part supply easier.
It is possible to fit MX5 parts to Ron's chassis but you'll have to do some of the thinking yourself.

I have both books and a Gibbs Roadster. The end result for me was a slightly bigger car with independant suspension all round and an MX5 engine so for
that reason I would go for the Gibbs book. That said the earlier book is better written in places for the amateur builder to understand so its well
worth reading.
Hmm - a decision. And if anyone wants a copy of a Champion book I have a spare as well - £10 collected or plus cost of postage

I bought both books as well as the Tiger Avon. Whilst the two other books have had some interesting ideas, the most information has come from the
Haynes Roadster book.

I must say that is very impressive, finding both books since 0948 this morning.
