Locost Yahoo Groups
Does anyone remember this https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/locost/info ?
I'm sure many of you, like me, had a huge amount of assistance from the Locost site on Yahoo Groups. Apparently it is no more after 15th
December 2020
I haven't been on there since this forum took off and my login is invalid so I've no idea when it was last active. Just reminiscing,
remembering the early 2000s when I bought a running MOTd Mk2 Escort donor for £30 and a complete Sierra for £40!
I'm a bilingual illiterate. I can't read in two languages.

I remember how annoyed I was at another site (this terrible Locostbuilders.co.uk) being created that would cause the knowledge base to be split
between 2 area!
It it hadn't been for that group, or this, I wouldn't have ever got the car finished!
And if it wasn't for LB I wouldn't have made some great mates and has some brilliant times.
Oh, and I paid £100 for my crash damaged 2.0i Sierra in 2002. And I think I had to pay to get the shell taken away!
Cheers,
James

Was never a member (or even aware) of the Yahoo group, just LCB. LCB helped me massively when building my MK Indy (as did the internet in general).
I read the comments about picking Sierra's up cheap back then as well. I did the same, bought my donor MoT fail Sierra and then 2 more Sierras
for £40 each, which I stripped and sold as "donor packs". profit to be made back then. Sierras have all but gone now and those that are
left have risen in price as well.

I was a member on that site, although i have long long ago forgotten my sign in!
It was a rather basic forum, like everything from that era Internet wise
And i paid £50 for a very rusty mk2 escort, that when we towed it to my place, i could see more of the road beneath me, than i could in front!!

I was with you James. I even made a point of not joining this site initially.
I also paid about £125 for my escort. It was in great condition and i still regret what I did to it.
