It is with great regret......
That I'm gonna sell my baby.
It deserves to be driven and I simply don't use it enough.
Can anyone give me some idea of it's value.
Honda SP1 powered.
Completed last year with all new parts and only covered 650 miles.
keyless ignition
super sticky tires
Some pictures in archive,
A rough idea would be helpfull so I can stick it in for sale section at Newark while I'm choosing my next build....
Cheers
John

That's a lovely looking car too.
Are you thinking of building anything else?? Just coming into summer too!
Since I dinged mine I'm missing it like crazy! And the good weather appears to have now started.

'Tis a shame to sell but it is only a toy and I'm too much of a two wheel freak, so when the sun shines the bike wins and the poor car
gets left in the garage.
TBH it was the challenge of building that attracted me to the kit car scene not the desire to own a sports car.
It is a very fast and capable car and ideally I would hope someone would campaign it in the RGB series.
I've had the plans for the 'Edge Piranha' for a while now and fancy getting stuck into building that. I've got a few ideas
that I want to try on BEC installations that I ve learnt during the Sp1der build.
Appears that the value is a big unknown for Stuart Taylor Sp1ders (not suprising as it's the only one in existence) so I'll push my luck
at Newark and see what happens. It can always go on ebay...

If it had been last year, I would've had it off you!
I built one of the original Midtec Spyders back in '92/'93. It was my only vehicle then, ran it for 2 years. A few years after I sold it I
wanted it back, hence the purchase of my current toy.
As far as value goes...I paid just over 3k last year for mine, but it "needed some attention", and I was looking specifically for a
Spyder.
Cars like these are really only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for them.
I will be at Newark on Sunday, if all goes to plan, so will poss see you there.

Thank God! I thought you were going to say you were going to sell your car...oh wait...you are!
Why not sell a baby and keep the car? Babies fetch quite a bit on the black market and in fifteen years of driving your middy, you would have spent
far less on it than on a similarly aged teenager!

I'm only selling it because it never gets used, which seems a shame.
the car will be at Newark over the weekend with a exagerated price. I don't want to give it away as it is a stunning sports car and it's
on an 04 plate so no MOT for another couple of years. Also I'm not desperste to sell (could always sell me bike instead)
There will be contact details so feel free to ring. I'll probably catch up with some of you.
Have a good weekend.

£8k. which I was pretty pleased with. £1500 profit on a kit car is ok I think.
Thanks to Scubastu for not letting me drive off leaving my 'soft top' in the field

Congrats on selling the car so fast.
Where has it gone, and does the new owner know about this site?
Keep us up to date if you do get into the 'Edge Piranha' build...should go like S*** off a shiney shovel!
Cheers Stuart
