If you had tons of cash........

Would you still be locosting?

I would, because I love designing/building cars....

I'd just have better/more tools and use newer better parts....

Any other thoughts?

Definately! I'm not building because I need a cheap car. I just want a car I've built myself.

Building the Locost would be something to do when not racing round in my Mclaren F1!
Or the Full Works Prepared Aston Martin V600 Vantage that will one day be parked next to it!

Cheers,

James

I agree Alan
There is a massive sense of accomplishment in making everything possible from scratch
I never tire of peoples expressions when u tell them wot u are doing!

The great thing about these cars is the diversity , no 2 will ever be alike
Pity the same can't be said for all the other clones!

Yeah - I would still build one.

But I would have the dogs b*llocks garage and tools, get me some proper technical/mechanical training, and be using all new parts.

Oh, and I would also be building me a GT40 replica as well!!

BTW - did anybody see the TERRIBLE episode of Dream Machine this week, what a total pile of old cack.....

Yup i'd still be doing it, as I want a car that nones had, to know I built it and for self gratifacation on the day it passes the SVA test.

And for the open top Donny motoring.

Then i'd build a GTR with all my cash

I'd still be doing it, cuz I'm a tight fisted git who hates to pay for something that I could do better or cheaper.

Apart from that I would have to watch anyone else making it to make sure it was done how I wanted it. I don't trust anyone else either!
Do you think maybe I need therapy?

It would come in handy for bribes at the SVA station.
I would use all new parts to get a current registration if I had the wonga.

yours, Pete.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Yes, excellent point.....

However back to the topic (yeah, I know I'm as guilty as anyone for straying...)

As Steve said, I too would have a Ferrari and maybe other cars......but, nothing would stop keep making my own too....not even Kylie/Danni (for more than a few hours anyway)....

Talking of tools/equipment, what would be welcome in your place?

I'd love a TIG set and maybe a car lift would be nice.....

I know i'm straying again, but this Kylie/Danni thing reminds me of when I was 16, I had a mate, Steve (no not him) and we would go out on the pull. Steve looked like Paul Mariner, not a bad thing at the time. Anyway to cut a long story short, I always finished up with the "Danni" Life's not fair!

Kylie is gorgeous, danni's an eight-pinter, end of story

Cheers

Chris

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Well, I'm going to buck the trend, no I wouldn't be building by own locost if I had all the money in the world, I'd just go out and buy a caterham. HAHAHAHA, only joking, I'd have a stock cutting bandsaw, a cnc plasma cutter, a big AC/DC tig, a nice MIG with a smooth arc and wire feed, and brand new parts, grinding rust of metal and painting it with manky paint is starting to hack me off. Oh, and I'd have one of the V8 bike engines that quaiffe and radical are making stuck under the bonnet.
