Winter upgrades ?
What you doing too yours ?
So far back axle as been out, new brakes new bearings new rod ends.
Engine in & out several times, new engine mounts new sump guard new gear linkage.
To do.......
Plastic bodywork is off, if funds allow new rear arch's & front cycle wings.
Maybe fit new passenger side panel, old one damaged by you know who.
Maybe fit new radiator, old one ok but scabby round edges.
New headlights too source n fit, or maybe paint old ones, chrome is peeling off.
Front suspension too strip & re build as reqd. Intend too have front uprights and wing stays plated at same time.....
Exhaust manifold ? Its mild steel, maybe just wrap it as it works fine and makes good power, painting never works for me, would like a stainless one
but funds.....??
The list is endless, what about yours ?

Still thinking of doing some form of forced induction. although thinking is about as far as i get for some reason. dunno why, most of the bits are
sat there waiting. Its one of those jobs that would be better for starting i reckon. Lost count of the times iv'e given it a coat of looking at,
and then stuck the kettle on instead. If i can tear myself away from the telly etc at Xmas i might make a start

2L Zetec to go in,
Would like to swap the radiator for a newer polo type ali one
Plenty more but think that will be stretching it for now as I'm keeping the car taxed and insured for the odd day out....Oli.

I dusted mine this morning.
Then I shut the door and came back in because it was cold.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Nice long list!
Put on the windscreen
Washer pump
Windscreen wipers
Half-hood and side doors
Homebrew lightweight heater
then... depending how far into winter I've got (I need the car running for the wedding in May)...
stage 1
Replace the carbs with home brew EFi plenum with Rover 48mm throttle body using Emerald for fuel side of things, stock Honda ECU for sparks, mostly
doing tuning via Innovate wideband sensor...
stage 2
Totally remove bike engine alternator, replace with Bosch Astra / Corsa 70A unit
stage 3
put intercooler on front of car and mini supercharger between throttle body and plenum (via intercooler). Decompression plates on the 2* heads. Go to
rolling road for tuning. Cross fingers and listen out for detonation!!
That's it then, I promise, car finished, no more fettling!!!
Oooh. I suppose fit the homemade intercom / mobile phone / PMR / mp3 unit.... Grrrrrr...

Had the last drive in mine today before it comes off the road. Jobs for the winter:
Fit alloy front hubs.
Source and fit 5 speed gearbox.
Fit Megajolt.
Upgrade dash to include rev counter.
Make and fit aluminium header tank.
Make and fit aluminium petrol tank.
Make and fit boot box.
Make and fit stone guards.
Do all those odds and ends jobs that I was going to "sort out after the SVA".
Oh and polish the bloody thing properly.
I f funds allow, upgraded cam and bike carbs, but I suspect they won't.
If I didn't take it off the road I doubt I'd do anything to it at all.

Fix the nasty noise from the engine,
Fit arch protectors,
Get a working speedo that isn't the road angel,
Should really re-wire the thing as it's bloody awful at the mo.
Oh, should also geta wider seat so the missus can come out with me occasionaly.
Also probably loads of little things, like getting an end piece for the can, as it fell off weeks ago, but can't be ar$ed to source a new one
yet.

I see a trend forming here, My plans include;
Fit bike carbs
Fit Megajolt
Replace rear axle for a cortina item (4.11 ratio) Lsd was too heavy and will go nicely in the next RV8 powered car
Replace bearings and fit high compression pistons
Get screen trimmed to correct size, finish fitting wipers and fit heater.
Replace rollbar (cheers MK)
Move filler cap from rear to top off boot lid.
Move battery to passenger footwell
General TLC after 11000 miles in 14 months.
All this and only 3 months to do it
ATB Dan.
The less I worked, the more i liked it.

well i'm now back to half a bare unrolling chassis, so it might turn into a summer mod! My immediate aims are to chop the front off, re do it
to the new plans, dig out my design for the back end, build the back end, make all the wishbones, fit the engine and get it running, wire it with the
basics, then get back on track asap! New car will hopefully be lots lighter and lots more adjustable than before.

nowt, except unnecessarily heavy and slightly too far forward. Gonna knock about 6" off the wheel base and maybe 10 off the chassis. Its a
convoluted set up, as there's no engine in the engine bay.

New alternator
Windscreen to go on
Carbon dash to go on
Aeroscreen needs to go on so I can use it for trackdays.
Fix cycle wing that is coming loose.
But and build Megasquirt
Then start getting bits together for Zetec conversion, still havent decided whether it will be Zetec SE or Zetec S. Depends on the costs. At least I
can get some bike TBs that will be suitable for both and all associated parts.
What car have you got now Jon? For some reason I thought you sold the GT1?

Im stil enjoying driving mine but may take it of the road at the end of December.
I was planning on fitting an 1800 zetec but have found that the height of the engine at 23 inches from the sump means i have zero ground clearance if
i fit it under the bonnet. I could cut an inch of the sump and raise the nose by an inch , move the ngine back and make a large bonnet bulge , it may
then fit but think I may have to seriously consider fitting the blade engine i originally intended fitting.
Paul.

1. Remove exhaust manifolds and remake in stainless with new manifolds to
2. Attach a pair of turbos.
3. Modify injection plenum to rear entry for
4. Pair of (now conjoined Ren 5) intercoolers,
5. Remove hump from bonnet and have slot for plenum to stick through,
6. Couple of top bonnet vents to be added for air to intercoolers, likewise a couple of side exits for same. New stainless side pipes (with less
silencing as it's gonna be blown)
7. New headlight arrangement to go into bonnet.
8. Mould bonnet and remake.
9. Replace side panels with ally with engine compartment panels set out 3" at rear, forward facing scoops for cold air feed to turbos (via
panel filters)
10. Remake front wishbones to incorporate Jags uprights/discs and calipers
11. Bin the Sierra IRS and fit Jag IRS.
12. Get MS or Emerald to run injection
First five are done, items in 6 are underway. Car taken off road on 15/10 for 2 months. Er that leaves two weeks
Maybe I should extend for another couple of weeks
