Car of the Year 2006

Another car forum I used to be a member of, had a car of the year where people submitted their pictures then everyone voted on their favourite, the winner got nothing more than having the best car title for a year.

We could have the best car registered in 06, I thought maybe doing it the best car on the site, but there would be so many.

Also how about 2 classes, Locost and Kit built. Voting would have to be done via u2u i think as you can vote on a poll more than once.

Let me know what you reckon and I will start a new thread for peoples pictures, then when everyone who wants to has submitted the voting will begin. I dont mind setting everything up and counting the votes and to keep it fair I wont submit my car.

If there is enough interested we could have an overall class of best on forum.

(By the way I'm stuck at home, unable to drive so yes, very bored! )

I've had a similar thought - although I wonder if, since it's a new thing, we should include anyone. It would also seem a bit unfair if someone had rebuilt a car previously registered and turned it into a beauty.

When I was typing it out I was thinking this as there are some really nice cars that have been built, and would be a shame not to recognise them.

Shall we make it best of 2006 locost and kit classes, then best car on the forum.

Not sure how many people will enter to be honest with you. I think most of us here would agree that our cars are here to be driven not looked at. Plus you'd never be able to make informed decisions on cars without seeing them. For instance I've seen some total dogs in real life that look ok in pics and vice versa (no one on here before I get ousted - it was landrovers).....Oli.

Sounds a lot of work.....

I agree that most people build there cars to be driven, but that doesnt stop some people finishing their cars to a very high standard.

Also I understand about seeing the cars in the metal/fibre glass isnt the same as pictures, but when the cars on here span the whole of the UK and a few in europe and the rest of the world, its the only way of seeing everyones cars in one place.

How about having a virtual kit show....
We can all post pics on a saturday, drink a few beers in the evening, then sunday take all the pics down, all with out leaving the sofa!
