I wouldn't say it is ugly, it looks kind of badass, but I would say it's like trying to make a silk purse out of an aerodynamic
sow's ear and ultimately without point.
Yup, if you want aerodynamics go for a Radical/GT1/XTR2/JP1 type car (I wish!).
Caterham are experimenting with wings and diffusers on their new car, didn't have the big rear wing but it did have a (detachable) front one but
it tends to make the front too grippy, or so I read.

Looks slightly badass, you can see where they were trying to go with it, but if you look at the car overall it looks like the underlying seven shape
was designed by a car designer with some sense of taste and asthetics, and then some kind of handy andy boy racer has stuck a huge MDF wing on the
back of it.
It could have been done so much better.. not that I'm offering a design, I'm no car designer.. but I know what it looks like when one gets
it right

They've obviously mounted it high up to try and get some clean air over the wing to get it to work. a lot of wings that are lower down will get
dirty air from going round your head or helmet (if wearing one). Interesting Idea, but as said if you want an aerodynamic car look elsewhere.
Ned.
