Car Delivery Costs??

Does anyone know what kind of money I can expect to pay to have a car deliverd say 200miles? I know it must make a difference on how far the collection and drop of point is from their home base, but do they usually change for the whole journey or just the bit where they are actually transporting the car?

Plenty of people advertise this on e-bay, simple enough to ask for a quote. depends if it's a round trip for them or if they can arrange another pickup near you

I think most of the ones on ebay charge £1 per mile.

We just had a project shipped up from Worcester @80p /mile and a rowing boat belonging to a workmate was taken to Shefield on way back at a reduced rate - Andy Dunne from Pudsey (has a website,)we would use them again - decent kit and polite driver.

I had a lotus delivered from Spalding to The Scottish Borders for £180 Seemed pretty good value to me.

I was quoted £250 for a Triumph spitfire for a similar distance.

Thanks guys, that gives me some confidence that if i do find a car some distance away its not going to cost a fortune to bring it home.

Ive got a mate with car trailer. He often gets his dad to collect land rovers for him that need new chassis fitting. Bishop to Cumbria probs wouldnt cost much, more fun to drive though.

i wanted my car transporting about 300 miles and i was getting all kinds of quotes from about £250 upto about £500!

there are a few on ebay, but they are all fairly pricey too. Dont forget you will be paying someones time & fuel & some profit! its not very "locost"

- Hire/borrow a trailer and transport it yourself. If your car isnt upto it/doesnt have a towbar, hire/borrow one that does for the day.

- Join the AA, roadside & recovery and "break down" when you are there
