hoping for a simple solution (exhaust related)
Hi
Short of putting a whole new exhaust system on my car how do I make my car quiter?
I want to take my car on track days at elvington with a 98db noise limit, and I currently produce 105db
any suggestions would be welcome
thanks

You can use something like this
DB killer
Not guaranteed to reduce it enough. 105db to 98dB is a big leap....
How about a bolt on secondary can?

what engine are you running, i used a can from mnr and it reduced mine from 108 to 93 not bad value either

i tried the db killer and all it did was restrict the engine to the point where it would not rev

David,
Simple answer is to fit a bigger can.
Some people have had success with an R1 can.
...or could you put this in line?

Slightly OT but is dBA like dBV and dBW where a 6/3dB resp. increase means a double in voltage/power?

Yes, a 3dB increase doubles the sound power, but it requires approximately a 10dB increase to give a doubling of perceived volume

Can I suggest you go ahead, then let me know the answer!! (or let me have the cans at a ridiculously low price and I'll give it a go)

Had 1600 CVH running at 105db and couldn't get on at Castle Coombe.
Side exit with Webbers (additional induction noise with webbers).
Largest Can possible is the answer.
Bought a silencer from Wunoff manufactured to match my current manifold pipe, reduced noise to 96db.
Speak to Wunoff and they may be able to give you some advice. He was dead right about mine.
Cheers

£80 plus postage and there yours (for both). as I don't have the tools to make a go of it. My only other though was to put them in line
somehow...
