i failed on thursday with a veypor vr2 dash for that exact reason. it was set so speedo came on when turned on but the examiner pushed a button which removed speedo.and failed me on the spot! i think many people have passed with digidash so it depends on tester. personally i would either disable buttons or make a bracket so you cant access buttons. you would kick yourself if you left it and it was your only fail!

i had the same issue with an koso dash, it is a fail for sva, the tester suggested disabling the button for the test by removing it and taping over the hole.
Basically the dash must display the vehicle speed at all times.

yep i failed with a digi dash, however after talking to ETB i sent it them and they put new code on so you carnt change the mode, you can still get into setup mode by pressing both buttons, hopefully the tester wont press both buttons!

I passed okay with an Acewell dash. If I am not mistaken, if you turn off the ignition and then turn it back on it will default to the speedo display. If so then this should be okay I think.

Good luck,
Craig.

craig1410, Its a new ruling that came in about 2/3 months ago, the dash must display the speed and the units(MPH) at all times, so being able to cahnge the mode and remove these from the dash is a fail.

My dididash2 failed on friday for not showing the units of measurement at all times and all lighting conditions.
This means the led display is not marked MPH and lit for night time.
Interested to hear your solutions ie reprogramming so the buttons dont work

I was asked if it stayed lit at all times and I said yes but I wasn't asked about units or whether it always displays the speed. Looks like I was a bit lucky...
