who's any good at maths

I'm trying to work out how much fuel is in my tank, when it says it empty.
The tank is 170 mm deep and 685mm wide the level of the fuel is 65mm high.
I'm thinking I should multiple 170 by 685 by 65 but how do you then convert this figure to litres?

1 litre = 1000 cc, i.e. multiply all your numbers together to get the volume in cubic centimetres, then divide by 1000.

Simples! <chk!)

7.569 L (I think )

His numbers are in mm so first divide each by 10

17cm x 6.5cm = 110.5cm2

110.5cm2 x 68.5cm = 7569.26cm3

or 7.569 litres

Just try converting measurements in inches into UK gallons!

Its not a full tank, only whats remaining in tank when gauge shows empty.

Thanks chaps. I had worked it out as 7569250 so thought it must be 7.5 ltrs or 3/4ltr. I was sure it was more than 3/4 but didn't think there was 7.5. My tank must be bigger than I originally thought.

I make it 762.4 gallons correct to a tolerance of + or - 98% plus vat plus delivery.
