Arrrrgghhhh Locosting!
Arrrggghhhhh!
Warning, mild rant ahead. Trying to do things on the cheap.......
My 7" chrome headlights are great, but due to the fact my car lives outside, the chrome is begining to pit / tarnish.
So when I came across a set of smaller headlights in black, that were well cheap, I decided to buy them. When they arrived I realised why the seller
couldn't get a decent beam pattern out of them, they were for a left hand drive car.
Never mind I thought, I found a pair of 5 3/4" right hand drive lenses for sale. Bought them and it was still all working out cheaper than
buying a new set.
Lenses arrived today and they don't fit the bowls!!! Arrrggghhh. The lenses are 5 3/4" but the bowls are 5 1/2"
Anyone want a pair of black headlights for a left hand drive car, or a pair of 5 3/4" headlight bowls...
Or do I try to bodge them in?

Can't you turn the glass in the black ones so the flick up is to the other side like the ones from Premier Wiring ?
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

It's funny how things work out when you set out trying to save money...
I'm almost certain that if I had bought a half decent "bare-bones" kit and a set of spanners rather than start a "£250"
scratch build I would be quids-in by now. Not to mention the car would have been on the road 5 years ago...
What with the need for additional tools, excess materials and the odd wrong part or wrongly modified part it isn't as cheap as one might
hope.
The point of a journey is not to arrive though eh???
Cheers,
Craig.

Locosting is not about saving money. It's about getting a car built, for way more money than a pre-made, better designed, more comfortable, and
more useful car. A flight of madness for each and every one of us in other words.

I deserve everything I get. I did this all on my own, although I feel a bit of encouragement from Uncle Ron and Keith Tanner didn't help. A lot
of us feel this way I'm quite sure!

^^^ What he said, Mike. Just make sure you use loads of spray lube on the adjusters on your light bar if you need to adjust the angle. Or
you'll do what I did: loosen the bar accidentally and then faff around for a while to get the damn bolts tightened again!

I could do, but won't that mean that dip and main beam will be upside down??

Hi Mike,
Have you got a pic of the headlights, and what kind of bulbs are fitted (H4?)
I might be interested if postage (NL!) isn't way over the top.

Mike: Not sure if you're sorted out, but you can pop the lens/reflector unit out of the Premier Wiring ones. If yours is the same, turning the
lens anti-clockwise about 15 degs would change the kick-up to the opposite side (if that makes sense...).
