99 R1 Mk Indy rod paddle shift help and pics please!!
Hello all,
Got the paddel shift today and wondered how I fit it to my 99 R1 engined Mk Indy, as it does not seem to make sense to me
Here is a pic of the paddle change set-up:
Now I have a rough idea, but here is where the gear change is at present:
So, how the hell do I get these to work?????
Any pictures of other peoples set-ups would be good
Thanks
Lee

that looks like a smart paddle shit, where is it from?
why are there two cams? that looks like it might be a left hand drive setup, does one unbolt?
my setup uses a cam just bolted through the engine cradle, with just one rod between cam and shifter.

You need to see the shift rods differently from the angle that they are on the bench at the moment.
The way you have them ATM is with the Cam sat on it's side. For the gearchange on the R1 that you have, you will need the Cam to be vertical. To
do this you will need to make or buy a small bracket, bolt it to your chassis and attach the centre of the Cam to it.
Please excuse the crudity of the drawing below, I just knocked it up to help you understand it better in case my description didn't make sense to
you!

I must apologise more than just the above - when I drew that in Paint, it was all colour coded and stood out reall well for what you needed to do!
If you can't figure it out, drop me a U2U and I will give you my phone number and talk you through it in about two seconds flat!

Thanks, that makes sense a bit!
Will I have to cut the bars at all?

Ye think you need to cut the bars to suit, the fully threaded one especially.
I fell asleep with the lap top on me last night, sorry i did not post, lol.
