locoR1's turbo R1 locost on the rollers at Newark
Dave had his car on the rollers at Newark today, quite a result at 257.1bhp!

The TVR Saggaris which followed it only put out a measly 243bhp
Which is actually a bit wierd as it should be 380bhp.... Was running mega rich top end though.

they were about £30 a run at stoneliegh, didn't go to newark so don't know

do they rev the engine until it red lines?
how to they measure the power etc, surely your creating more power in higher gears?

The engine makes the power! Gears change the torque!

They usually run bec's up in 4th gear on the dyno's,or third gear on most car engines,the engines don't make any more power in any
higher gear,the main reason they use 3rd or 4th is to keep dyno roller speeds down to around 100mph.
I was there watching Daves car,I was very impressed with those figures,all his own work too,well done Dave

Also 4th was traditionally the closet gear to a 1:1 ratio through the gearbox which reduces loses or torque mutiplication. If I remember you get the
same calculated BHP in lower gears but you may show higher wheel figures as measured directly on the dyno.
TVR with less than quoted power now there a surprise!! Never seen one reach the factory figures on the dyno I use. We also had a S2 Reanualt Clio V6
and that was struggling to get anywahere near the 255BHP it should have had.
Just interested but did they do a coast down test after the power runs? I might be tempted to put mine on one at the next show just as a
comparison.

Not long got home what a great weekend was hoping someone took some pictures or did a video thanks David.
Got a tex from cloudy last night telling me it was on here really chuffed never though it would make that sort of power,
more importantly the fuelling's almost spot on considering its on carbs and i set it up on the road using a wideband kit.
Thanks for the comments and jon 258 is defiantly achievable i normally aim to run a max of 12psi i pressed the recall on the boost controller after
the last run and it was 10.9psi

No problem James i enjoyed the ride in yours and yours actually sounds more powerful than mine in the videos but its not!
Hears one of my printouts power an torque the other one is air fuel ratio.
First two runs green and pink was with the boost controller mapped every 1000rpm last run blue no map.
Looking at the curves the air fuel ratio follows the peaks so i should be able to smooth it out a fair bit playing with the boost map.

All standard 1999 4xv apart from 1.5mm cometic head gasket cam pullys slotted to allow the cam timing to be reset to mcexpress/holeshot timing figures
As far as i know (Was told engine had done around 8k when i got it) its even on the original Yamaha clutch just doubled up on the diaphragm spring.
