The beast.... Pictures!
some pics of the banger. poor light unfortunately conceals the back end, but most is visable...
EDIT: steves re done them so i got rid of these to help the dial up brigade
The oddest thing is the distance between the gear stick and the front wheels!

It was never a great concern of mine before but now I'm worried. How far is my gearstick from the front wheels? I just know I'm not going
to get any sleep tonight now. Damn you Joel I'm off out to measure it now and it will be your fault if I catch punimon, pumnoni, sod it a cold.

It's 10' 3".

I have never seen an engine that far back before! If you hit anything you will have a couple seconds to abandon ship before the damage reaches the
passenger section!
Where are you gonna get the glass fibre for your unstandard frontal shape?

Joel, you're a WILD MAN!  That baby is BIG!
Y'know, I think you could make a MORGAN out of it!  Just half kidding in fact; the front half looks like it COULD take Moggie bodywork.
Looks like it ought to panel OK, I think. Does the nosecone fit?
If you need some help sorting out the back end shape, I suggest putting up a profile, rear, and rear 1/4 shot and letting the Photoshop boys and
verbal kibitzers have at it. If you have rear fenders, maybe it would help to clamp them on where you want them.
Looks like you're going to have something to drive soon, should be fun.

thanks guys, all good. it struckme the other day its got a morgan like backend, i actually chopped it all off the other day (after the pics) cos it
was badly designed. no it has more bracing to the shocker pick up point, and thinner tubing to support the outline of the backend. current thinking is
that it will have a one piece fiberglass backend, hinged with gas struts, unfortunately that makes it even more morgan like! nowt wrong with that
except im not buuilding a morgan...
i got major stuck the other day, had to sit down and make a plan, about 20 odd hard tasks to finish it, which may take all summer to get it compliant.
but just gotta soldier on one at a time, and hope! it does help having no job, plenty of free time!

Joel, Whats that piece of (looks like) copper pipe between your front wishbones in the frst picture? Is it to act as a bumper so that the bits behind
it dont have to be radiused etc like on a dax? Someone told me to do that but i wasnt sure if it was true.

I was thinking that a rounded, humped shape with a lifting lid, like from cars of the 30s, would look good.

Thats task 2 on the list, 'radiator bottom hose'. Damned if i know what to do! i've just spent (wasted) £35 on some flexible hose
from europa to help plumb in the T from the expansion tank, so that sould be that solved. cut a t (30/32/16mm) from a polo i had, but couldnt make the
35mm copper tube i had link to it. all my hoses were 30 mm, and 5mm of diameter is 15mm of circumference to stretch!

yeah, im gonna get the brakes and radiator done first to restore my flagging motivation, then worry about technicalities like bodywork! and sod going

I had thoughts of modding my car to look like a plymouth prowler, or even to have a front like a PT cruiser. The back end has comitted me a bit
tho....may not have you if thats a way you wanna go...
I love the look of this car - blows the look of a seven away in my view

the headlamp nacelles prob wouldnt be allowed cos of pedestrian injury.
some late 50s early 60s UK cars (vauxhalls) looked a tad like that. Crap at the time, but kinda nice now

There is a kitcar replica of the prowler, cant think who makes it now, but it was at one of the shows full of stereo. Like the looks, but not so keen
on the front bumpers, im sure they must be there to meet us legislation.

there is a nice red and white one in the movie 'true lies' - 'its the vette that gets em wet' was the line I think
We have the odd one here - the pics shown were at a kit show this year - the dash looks great, but would never pass a modern SVA!!
As for a brit car that looks 'a bit' like a 50s yank.... heres an old vauxhall.
