Try searching for R1 Can threads.
A popular conversion, I've just fitted one to my Pinto'd Cat and can't believe how much quieter it is. I can now hear induction
noise!! Doesn't seem to effect performance either...
Will post some pics when I've time.

I dont remember the thread but I have been told on numerous separate occasions that the standard R1 can is particularly quiet, if a little
restrictive.

I need something cheap, with a cat, and capable of flowing 225bhp at least....
Im wondering if it exists or not, cos if the R1 can is restrictive on a pinto....

I think THIS is the thread you're looking for. I only know cos he bought
the exhaust from me and yes it was standard ZX12.
If you send him a u2u he might even be selling it I guess as by the looks of the thread it was a bit too quiet/flat for him?

I HAVE MY ZX12 CAN FOR SALE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, AND YES THEY ARE VERY QUIET AND YOU CAN HEAR INDUCTION NOISE. THEY ARE ALSO NOT AS RESTRICTIVE AS
THE R1 CAN AS THEY ARE SLIGHTLY BIGGER

That was indeed the thread. Too quiet sounds good! Do you know if these cans have cats inbuilt? I want something I can fit for the IVA and then forget
about. trackdays and hillclimbs mean Ill need quiet and cat anyway.

Does anyone know if the downpipes on a ZX12 are titanium or stainless?

We have used the Titanium can from a ZX12 together with Fireblade titanium downpipes ( suitably reworked) on our Phoenix. The ZX12 downpipes are also
Ti.
I don't think it has a cat in it.
We are hoping it will be quiet enough for trackday use.

evening all
the zx12 can does not have a cat built in
and is only going on for track use!!
its made a huge difference to the car it is really quiet and has loads more torque over the mk can.
the only problem was fixing a bracket to mount it.
also the induction noise was alot more obvious after fitting the can so i reworked the induction pipework and fitted a remotely mounted air filter
(thank you eznfrank)

Darn, just won a complete ZX12 exhaust system on eBay, was hoping the downpipes were stainless so I could cut and shut them. Not a major problem, I
have a (rather badly made) 4-1 stainless manifold from kitpartsdirect that I can chop around to fit.
Someone's made a beautiful job on that Phoenix, are you the TIG-meister?

Hi Mike.
It's my co-conspirator Eldon who is the TIG-meister!
The exhaust wasn't too difficult, apart from the collector. Took ages to make though. We just cut up the standard Blade pipes into straights and
bends and went from there.
Eldon says it's easy to weld. Just pay attention to your purge.
Titanium doesn't like being bent though. The collector caused a lot of swearing etc.
Geoff.
