CAT D car???
is there any way to find out what the damage was on a car thats been a CAT D write off?

there was a thread about this a while back now.
Not really written off as it might just be superficical damage.
If i remember it doesnt take much to get it back on road and insurable
Time for a change!

no unless you phone the previous owner
20 of the 27 cars ive owned were damaged catC or D
it could have been absolutely mullered
or just a dent in a door
i would ring the previous owner if it worries you

I wouldn't worry too much wondering 'what' had happened to a Cat D car... in most cases these days it's an absolute nonsense
that lightly damaged cars are written off. Just satisfy yourself that the car is 'right'.
If in doubt get an engineer to inspect it on your behalf...

Cat D could be stolen recovered and undamaged but paid out before it was found so went to the insurance company. I used to drive cars I'd bought
from salvage yards and repaired myself, buy and repair then run for a few years and sell. Cat C needs a VIC and MOT before it can go back on road.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I had a cat d clio 2002,had a smack in tail gate,car cost £1500.repairs came to £1100.
Contacted prev owner couldnt believe it was back on road,she had spare keys service book everything.But to top it all car had only done 5000miles.
i dont have a problem with them,as long as you check details.
