Couriers

Hi All

What's the best way to send a parcel within the UK? (5kg, ish)

Not necessarily the cheapest, but the best all round service.

I've used Royal Mail up till now.

Cheers
Paul G

another thumbs up for parcel2go
Sent loads of stuff with them, never had an issue or been let down
most recent example..
got an engine stand needed shipping from Yorks to Gosport
for £10 it arrived next day! despite the chap I bought from couldn't be arsed to fully dissmantle it as I requested and changed his mind where it needed picking up from at 5 past midnight on day of collection!
(they have a live chat thingy on their website for assistance- and it worked for me!)

Well recommended and trusted

Regards
Rob

I've had great service from InterParcel - enter details of your package (size, weight, destination, etc) and it will give you a list of couriers and the cost. You can pick the one you like - last time I sent a parcel to Australia, it was £35 cheaper than Parcel Farce, and insured and tracked (which PF wasn't) via DHL. Cheaper than going direct to DHL, and they collected from the house.

I know that you want to ship within the UK, but it's worth a look - you can get the details without committing yourself.

I'd second Interparcel, always had very good service at reasonable cost

I use Parcel Machine for UK & International deliveries (via DHL mostly).

I have used Interparcel for about 3 years now and they are brilliant, they have never collected late or delivered late - and good value too. They use all of the major carriers DHL/UPS/TNT/etc etc

Rob, you sound so convincing. Are you in sales?

Anyway, I gave them a go.
Online 8.15 this morning. Payed with my debit card. Saved a couple of quid, but more important saved the trip to the Royal Mail depot. (7 miles)

DHL picked it up at 3pm.

So far, so good.

Cheers everyone for the replies. (we need a thumbs up symbol)

Thanks
Paul G

LOL Nah, not in sales, nor connected to them in any way

Just a V satisfied customer
Had dramas with Royal Fail and a few others for bits n bobs- mainly eBay stuff

Couldn't belive the engine stand one tho
I doubt many companies could sort that one out- or would still pick up/drop off with a pretty much fully assembled oily engine stand! when I had told them it would be a neat compact box of tubing
Never got an email complaining it didn't bear any resemblance to the dimensions I gave
The driver that delivered wasn't in a bad mood about it either (think it was DHL this time)

If there was a thumbs up thingy I would have tacked a few on my posting

Regards
Rob
