It depends on the product and manufacturer. If you buy halfords branded stuff you get more discount.

For bulbs and wiperblades ive had discount of up to 75%.

On tools its usually lower around 10%

It depends on what the parts are you buy. You get hell of a discount of batteries and filters. i bought a load of filters from there they rung up at about 25 quid. I paid about 6.
Spray paint you get about 30 p off.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

You just need to catch the right person and bluff them..

I got a fan belt the other day down from £10 to £7 and an injection fuel filter down from £7 to £1.99!

Most of the other branded or non car repair stuff gets about 10% off. IE: spay paint.

Got a 200 starter thingy in the sale already down from £100 to £70 for £50

Discount on power tools not verygood and they are best bought elsewhere , as above service parts and (Haynes manuals) good discount, they won't give trade discount off their big monthly deals eg ratchet spanners and black tool boxes- they always revert to the ludicrous rrp

my trade card has saved me hundreds over the years, as already said, best discount is on own brand service items but some tool purchases can be worth having, beware though that if you buy a sale item amongst some others that using your trade card can actually make the item more expensive, always check the prices as they put them through.
