To cage or not to cage
I've ordered a twin roll hoop with my chassis but thinking ahead the cage makes more sense as it's safer.... however I still can't
make my mind up!
Its mainly going to be a road car but will be going on track, GKD legend with an 3.0 m3 motor.
I can't afford both or to change my mind in the future!

A cage can make getting in and out pretty awkward which isn't ideal for a road car. Would be be possible to try out a factory demo car with one
fitted?

with that sort of power you will be amazed how quickly it can get out of shape.
the cage will be like an insurance policy for you. It will seem unnecessary till you need it then you'll be very glad you had it!

A cage can save your life and your passengers, IMO well worth the investment.

With all that power and torque of your M3 motor,the full cage will also help stiffen the chassis.

In the case of the GKD or in general terms? If the latter, getting in and out of my Striker would change your mind very quickly.

Cage.
I tried the injuries without cage.
In and out is not a problem, not even for me @ 110 kg, 190 cm.

Ok not the sort of thing that happens on the road, but on track - anything can happen.
Il defo be ordering a full cage when the time comes.

Though it's very unlikely to happen a bit too much speed, a patch of diesel, and a curb is all it needs - look how many people crash every year

Hi
Given the complete lack of chassis members in there chassis given the power unit a full cage is minimum just to try and stiffen the chassis up a tad.
But as with all cages that are to be used on track in the future make sure it complies with MSA criteria as a minimum.

Cheers guys..... order changed to a cage
Better add too Matt that the 6 cylinder chassis had more bracing etc for the extra weight/torque etc

Roll hoop
Does anyone have a spare roll hoop they don't plan to use? I would like to fit one, but I don't have access to a bender. Thanks, Andrew.
