Missed Bay Bargain!

I've just missed out on a supercharger being sold on the bay as a 'Mini Cooper Inlet Manifold'.
The auction ended at 07:00 this morning but I was outbid by some nocturnal chap.
Sold for just under £56!

I'm feeling a 'Wanted: Mini Supercharger' thread coming on!

is that for your XE mate? I wouldnt beat yourself up too much, the mini s/c is a bit on the small side.

Although at £60 it would have been rude not to

You have to set yourself a limit, and its all too easy to go that extra £1 again and again.

Don't beat yourself up, one will come along at the right price for you.

No, I had plans to put it on my E36 (1.9 16v).
Getting hold of a supercharger at a good price shouldn't be a problem. Making or buying a manifold might be!
There is a company in the US (Downing Atlanta) that do a bolt on kit for the M44 engine using an Eaton blower but not the M45.
Just another money and time distraction from the 7 unfortunately.....but I like it!

say eaton

I'm quoting people on migweb who are actually using eaton s/cs on the C20XE, rather than numbers from a suppliers website

the fact that BMW use it to supercharge a 1.6l to moderate power output is pretty telling. The first thing Worx ditch on the mini when they upgrade is the eaton!

I think the M62 is the Eaton of choice for the BMW M44 kit but I was hoping to get away with an M45....might be a bit small but I'm not going for big boost.
Not sure what the Worx upgrade is for Mini's though.

Top Boss performance use the M45 on the 2.9 Cosworth and see a 60 - 70hp hike on its own, and a tweak on the map.

An M45 will easily make 10 psi on anything up to 2 litre which is enough for 50-60% power hike and it will still be within its good efficiency band. That sort of boost is also the limit on most engines with stock internals

If you want more boost then you need a bigger supercharger.
