Argghh DVLA

Just called DVLA as it wouldnt let me tax online and eventually got through to someone however they state that i will need an MOT. The car was registered last July and given an age related plate and 3 years before I need an MOT. I know other people have had the same problem on here - is the best option just to go to the DVLA office where it was registered?

Just go to a local post office that can issue tax disks.

I just went to my local post office yesterday and they gave me tax after viewing my V5 and Insurance certificate. They didn't even ask for an MOT or V112 form although I had a V112 ready in case asked.

I still don't know where I stand with my insurance but have asked my underwriters for clarification. If they get iffy about it then I'll ask them to show me what they refer to as "the law" regarding MOT's because as far as I can tell the law says I don't need an MOT, it's just the DVLA who say I do but their agent (the PO) was happy to give me tax.

I hope you get it all sorted out.

Cheers,
Craig.
