Rhetorical or not, a question always ends with a "?".

Not wanting to hi-jack the post but I'm told by an American friend in the UK doing a PhD that we speak/use colloquial English!
According to the latest Oxford dictionary spelling labor, center etc. is now the correct way.
Our spelling is regarded as colloquial as the majority of English speakers now spell the American way (thank you very bl**dy much Microsoft for
bastardising the Queen's English).
Rant, rant, rant and more rant - don't know what the world's coming to etc. etc., Pewe

It was all a bit tongue in cheek to be honest. I didn't honestly think he drove his car over God
As for remark for a hall monitor, apart from it being an awful Americanism...... SHHH Its a forum say nothing you as you may upset someone

I believe this falls in the category of an exclamation rather than a rhetorical question and as such, qualifies for an exclamation mark rather than a
question mark and so is correct.
