couriering an engine

Hi

I've got my BMW 325i engine on fleabay at the moment and I've got a chap in Malta who is building a seven and is interested - name of Emvin don't suppose anyone knows him/her of here do they ??

Anyway he wants to buy the engine and get it couriered to Leeds to a mate of his and he'll sort it from there.

He's said he'd try and arrange a pallet service and then pay by paypal.

Now I'm assuming I'll need to crane the engine onto a pallet for the courier who'll then tail lift it into the van ?

Has anyone done this and what would I need to do to get the engine ready and shipped off ?

Don't think he's in anyway dodgy, he's just trying to work out how to get 150 odd kilos from my house to Malta !!

thanks
Paul

Ok thanks

Getting a bit of cold feet about this now - he wants me to arrange courier and send it to a commercial premises in Leeds where his friend goes about every 2 weeks.....

Seems a little out of the ordinary....but there is a member on here Emvin from Malta but he hasnt posted since 2007.

Just wondering if I hire a van myself and take it up there myself whether I'm walking into something dodgy !!

Personally.....
I'd pull the chain.
Who is going to sign for it? Sounds strange!

DONT SELL ABROAD!!! thats my advise. i sold some bits abroad because paypal insists you delivery with tracking and signed for by the recipeint you may end up with a paypal claim which they will win.

i have done a few bits abroad. bumpers lost paypal cos some other name signed for it.

one not signed for cos most people abroad dont like to get signatures.

good luck if you do decide to but get bacs payment or western union NOT paypal.
