Worth it for the engine and loom etc?

Pretty poor advert i know, but this isn't far from me...
Assuming the engine is alright, think it's worth a punt?

That's a very good price. The mileage is suspiciously low for the age/number of owners. Figure on it having been clocked at some point.

Of course it's possible, but is it likely? Volvo most unlikely ever to have been a company or hire car.

err why?
I stared off on the zetec route but ended going from 1300 -> 1660 tuned crossflow since I did not want bonnet bulge ... but if you are not on the road and in the middle of a build, then if it was me, I'd go zetec for sure.

ok, maybe i'm changing my mind again...
it does make sense to change the engine before any wiring or anything has been done already....

So i've got a 1300 xflow, if i'm looking to go zetec, what's my best option? Bear in mind that this needs to be on a budget.

As for 1600, 1800, 2000 are each blocks bigger than the last? Also, i know there are obviously quite a few guises of zetec nowadays, what's going to be the easiest and cheapest of the lot to use? Should remind you it needs to fit in a striker as well...

So would something like this mondeo at the top of the thread be a good choice?

cheers for the help
andy

Absolutely.buy it and strip the engine out.sell off the rest to recoup some of the money.
I would.
the mondeo/Escort is the one you want if you want it to mount straight to a type 9.
I wouldnt bother with a 1.6 though and go for a 1.8/2.0,they are all the same size.
