help wanted

Hi all i`ve just started a project based on a locost using a sierra 2l twin cam engine and the mt75 gear box.does anybody know the steering rack/columm of a escoet mk2,or a capri 1.6 or 2.0 and what a complete rear axle to go with the gear box,thanks

Hi there i only got the engine and gear box mt75 of a sierra sapphire 2L twin cam 1991.
steering rack,columm with egnision power sterring bottle wiring light ,complete rear axle with drums and break system,i may missed something else,im still learning realy im not good with mecanic thats why im asking for help.cheers for that,see what you can do.

Hi everybody i`ve got the escort mk2 rs2000 steering rack and i could not find any steering columm to go with it any ideas. the escort mk2 are not easy to find now been told the sierra will fit but not shure wich on to get, pls help thanks

The Sierra column comes in two flavours, fixed and adjustable, both fit the same way and you need to extend the column link, so mixing the two models shouldn't be a problem

I think you need to provide a lot more information about what you are doing before anybody is going to be able to help very much, and why are you only asking about caster, are you confident about the camber?

Hi there not confident about camber eighter
bought the chassis based on a locost without the brackets so when i got to weld them i thought about the caster and camber dont know what degree the wishbones should be set at & no info in the haynes roadster book about cater.
ps- only using independent at the front gone for live axle at the back.

Sounds like you need to get hold of a second hand copy of the original "build your own sportscar for £250" book, then which will give you the bracket positions. Youw ill probably need about 5 deg of caster to have enough self centring to satisfy the iVA examiner. 1 degree negative camber should suit.

But what you really need to do is to post a question in the correct part of the forum, which is the Running Gear section. Give plenty of infomation and you should get some useful answers.
