I feel bad :(

Just gave my mate 2 months notice to move out of my house he is renting from me. Me and the wife need to move back in, but I feel so guilty

Never rent to your friends.

Say something to make me feel better

You nasty nasty man. Tell him ive got some boxes in the shed i can send him....

Seriously, tough call, but i hear what youre saying. I had to kick out my ex squaddie mate who was struggling to resettle. horrible time, but he went to iraq as a contractor, now lives in Dubai, drives a mustang GT and lives like a king.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

He has been a great tenant and done nothing wrong which makes it more difficult

We just need to move back in there.

Don't feel bad! (as Quagmire would say)

Could be worse though he's got 2 months notice...

You feel bad now? Imagine how you (and he) will feel when you tell him he's not getting his deposit back

Your post has renewed my faith in landlords. So they do have scruples.

My last one has just tried to pull a fast one by dedicting the cost of a jacuzzi bath panel from my bond. Despite the fact we pointed out the cracks to him (not the agent) before we moved in 18 months ago...

Us landlords aren't all bad

Today I had to tell the best tenant I have ever had that we are selling the house she is living in. I felt like Scrooge kicking out a lovely lady with tears in her eyes. It might be years before it is sold but we thought it would be only fair to tell her what we were intending to do.

We are downsizing in the near future so need to scrape every penny together in readiness for our retirements.

Cheers,
Raz

You know there should be some way the tenant can rent/mortgage off you like hire purchase with cars...
