What should a wheel weigh?
I roughly weighed a wheel tonight, they are 13 inch split rim Image alloys with part worn AO48's, and with a bathroom scales one came in at
around 14kgs (actually it was 15 but then was 13!!, you know bathroom scales!).
Question is is that heavy or light or OK?
Looking to lose a bit of weight, but do not want to go on a diet!

5 or 7 for the alloy and 7 to 10 for a tyre might be typical. You wont save a huge amount off 14kgs.

Lightest tyres are ACB10's at around 5kg, but they are dangerous on the road and very expensive.
13x6 wheels are around 4-5kg. I think those tyres are around 7-8kg, so your numbers make sense.
Time to crack open the salad!

14kg is pretty light for a wheel + tyre.
Avon ACB 10s are supposed to be the lightest tyres iirc, magnesium split rim might also save a bit, but as said you'll be spending a lot of
money to save a few lbs.
What engine are you running?

17"OZ ultraleggera's with brand new rubber 17kg. Should get down to 15kg near the wear limits

My minilites with AO48 are 15kg, so 14kg is good i guess

Wow, so my standard 15 inch Mondeo Verona alloys and a brand new 195/55 x15 tyre at 15.4Kg is not that bad!

Be very cautious of bathroom scales, as a wheel+tyre is too light for accuracy on most of them.
Best way is to weigh yourself with and without the wheel and subtract.
I had some weller steels in 13" that went from 3.18kg on their own up to 5.45kg using the subtract method on my digital bathroom scales (which
still means they weighed a lot less than most cheap alloys - which is interesting in itself).

Honda civic coupe 14" steel wheels with new185 60 R14s Dunlop SP2000s come in at 13.8kg/wheel (averaing with all 4 on the scales. I stupidly
assumed this was heavy when starting my build, and I'd save some weight going for 15" alloys.

13x5 peugeot steel with acb10 was around 10kgs a corner. Unbelievably light!

I weighed my 14" Superlite with an r888 at approx. 15 kgs.
I used a bathroom scale and weighed my self with and without the wheel.
