Doh!

As I didn't have much to do today I thought I'd strip down my exhaust system, knock off the rust spots and repaint (also get rid of the annoying buzz on tick-over). I could see a can of VHT paint on the shelf, plus a tube of exhaust paste for re-assembly. I even squeezed the tube just to make sure that it was OK.

Took the system to bits, wire-brushed with the angry grinder, and got the paint can... and found that it was nearly empty...

Went out and got a couple of spray cans, did the spraying, then started to consider re-assembly... then found that the tube of exhaust paste was hard at one end, and air at the other - felt squishy, but totally useless.

So now I have to go out again tomorrow to get it...

Job done!

Had a good run around the local back roads afterwards... just to make sure it was OK, obviously...

The exhaust note is quite respectable now, after re-packing the silencer... shame the intake roar is so loud!
