This weeks senior moment.....
After my last trackday my k series lump wasn't too well, so have been building up a spare motor over the last few months.
Finally got round to fitting it, spent a fair bit of the last two days taking the old motor out and fitting the replacement.
Started it up tonight and all seemed well, a couple of cam followers a bit reluctant to pump up, but otherwise ok.....then I noticed the oil.
After it had been running a few minutes a large puddle had formed under the rear of the engine, and a quick inspection seemed to indicate it was
pouring out from the back of the block and down the rear of the sump. Looks like it's coming from the rear main I thought........then the sudden
awful realisation.
A quick rummage through the gasket box revealed a nice new shiny rear main oil seal, about 8 feet away from where it should have been - on the back of
the motor. F**k.
Guess what I'm doing tomorrow.......

Methinks taking the saving weight thing a bit too far.

Could have been worse!
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Best Regards
